Educational Outreach Programs

Duo Millenia offers theme-based Arts Outreach programs designed for grades k-6 in which children are exposed to these fascinating instruments. Programs are 25 minutes in length for a half-hour period, or 40 minutes for a 45 minute period. The extra 5 minutes allow for students moving in and out of the classroom or auditorium. In 2006, we presented our most recent program, the Sounds of Music, to about 600 students in 6 schools of the Hot Springs area.

The Sounds of Music

Duo Millenia takes students on a journey of imagination and sound. Music is used in so many creative ways: to paint sound pictures , make lifelike sound effects, imitate instruments and voices, and make us move. This program is designed to make students listen to music in many different ways while using their own imagination.

When 2 Musicians Meet

What happens when 2 musicians who have never played together meet for the first time? Duo Millenia brings the students into the life of musicians: discovery of the instruments, practice, rehearsing, performing, but most of all an unending love of music and a lot of fun! A different look at music from the "interior", designed to inspire students to be part of the music making.
